Ochre - AudioMicroDevice
Feb 24, 09:00 by Stefan KoopmanschapTake Boards of Canada. Take Autechre. Take a slight bit of Aphex Twin. Blend that with a \”poppy\” sound, and you\’ve got Ochre.
AudioMicroDevice is an amazing combination of a lot of sounds. it contains the lushness of Boards of Canada, combined with the rhythms one might come to expect from artists such as autechre or aphex twin. Yet some tracks have a pop-feeling to it that none of the above-mentioned artists has been able or willing to implement in their music.
Not all tracks are very accessible for a pop audience, but tracks like Low Grav Freefall and Moonlight Sonata could definately come very far.
This album, which is released by Ochre himself on a beautiful black cd-r with very nice minimal artist, is very consistent in quality, is varried to keep interest. This is a disc that a lot of people could probably listen to for a long time, definately on repeat.
It\’s amazing. Don\’t be surprised if Ochre turns up @ warp or a similar label in the near future.
Released on no label
