Jimmy Behan - Days Are What We Live In
Nov 7, 11:31 by Stefan KoopmanschapAfter the recently reviewed compilation eklectra which featured music by Jimmy Behan, now it’s time for the full length album Days Are What We Live In. And a very nice full length album at that.
Very laidback, that’s what this album is. The perfect album to play on a sunday morning when you have to get up early for whatever reason and you want to chill a bit. Beautiful melodies, great rhythms, a very lounge-y atmosphere. Perfect material for some serious chilling.
Aside from very laidback, the repetetiveness in the music makes it quite entrancing. Especially when you’re still a bit asleep, just waking up, you can easily lose yourself completely in the music. Repetetiveness in this case is definately not negative. It enhances the experience of the music, makes you dream away to the music.
My personal favorites on this album are Deeper Than Heaven, which contains beautiful dreamy vocals. And the track after it, Complete. But those two tracks are not very much better than the rest, because the whole album is quite solid.
Released on elusive recordings
