ML - Good Morning
Mar 12, 16:32 by Stefan KoopmanschapML is a name that has been around for a while in the world of (slightly) experimental electronica. Basic keywords that I’ve always associated with ML are ‘laidback’, ‘solid’, ‘interesting’. This release does not fail to fit this keywords.
For this release, ML teams up with En:Peg, a relatively young label that sell digital downloads of their releases. In this case, your meager $2.00 will get you 10 great tracks.
So what exactly can you expect? For instance some very laidback electronica in Not a damn gobot. Slightly more bleepy sounds in Night light. Night light, by the way, is the most brilliant track I’ve heard in a while. A great combination of very laidback sounds with some very nice rhythms and bleeps. if I know I tell has a more minimal approach. It evolves. Beautiful. A lot of processed vocals can be found in Crazy about you, which is definately one of my favorites off this release. With Small caps you can dream away. It’s very dreamy, with beautiful simple melodies. Docking Sequence starts like a beautiful ambient soundscape, but evolves into a rhythmic track, very driving.
All in all, this is a great release that is definately interesting for those into IDM/electronica. Especially for such a low price, you’d be hard-pressed to find material like this.
