Greg Scrase - Untitled

Feb 24, 01:12 by Stefan Koopmanschap

Laid back melodies combined with drilling rhythms, that’s Big Face Funny Language, the first track off this release by Greg Scrase. Very well-executed, they combine very well. No pure drilling power, no pure ambience, but a combination of the two that create a very powerful track which in enjoyable for the ear as well as a good headnodder.

Table Sniff is the second (and last) track on this release. It’s longer (7:01 as opposed to the 5:33 of Big Face Funny Language) but no less enjoyable. Table Sniff reminds of some more evolved, more enhanced version of Mick Harris, or a cross-breed of Mick Harris together with Tipper. Mick Harris’ genes can be found in the repetitive bass and rhythms, and Tipper’s genes in the slightly more complex style of the breaks and the atmospheric feel that the track has.

Both are excellent tracks. I personally enjoy Table Sniff slightly more but don’t let that hold you back from downloading both tracks :)

Released on Audio Aubergine
