QuestionmarQ - Pride of America

And so I was excited to hear about the release of an artist I had not heard of before: QuestionmarQ. It’s release, Pride of America, contained the original, a remix by Corrugated Tunnel and one by QuestionMarq himself.
All three remixes are pretty minimal in nature. And minimal is a widespread genre on the Internet, both in paid and free downloads, so you have to bring something special to really stand out. And unfortunately, this release just doesn’t cut it for me. Don’t get me wrong, the release is far from bad, but it just doesn’t add anything really special to what is already available. Exception to that is the Corrugated Tunnel remix. Where I felt the remix by Corrugated Tunnel of I am an exit was the negative exception, in this case it’s definitely the positive exception. Very dreamy, entrancing. Very well done.
So here I am, being a bit disappointed, but looking forward to the next releases by Seedyr. You can’t get it right 100% of the time.
