Sonora price update and new releases
Dec 18, 22:11 by Stefan KoopmanschapIndependant label Sonora has announced that the prices have been lowered to $6 postage paid worldwide for all CDR releases. Aside from this price drop, they also have some interesting new releases available.
RAVEN STRAIN + AHD Thin Fevers CDR
Matt Billings (Raven Strain) has been traveling to Puerto Rico now for a few months and it’s inevitable that we would talk him into recording for Sonora.
First off is his collaboration with AHD (Ariel Hernandez), recorded in a beautiful colonial home in the heart of Old San Juan on a busy Monday afternoon, the sounds within are just like a sweaty walk in the scorching-hot sun through the ancient streets of the old city. Beautiful sounds.
I/C/O/C – Parasitic Concubine CDR
Like the sound of giant footsteps waking you from a deep sleep, this is a three-track monster from the chaotic megalopolis of Mexico City! Our first look into vastly uncharted noise territories south of your little border.
EYE – The Dresden Codex CDR
Continuing our exploration of southamerican sound masters we now journey to Argentina, specifically the city Buenos Aires, where Mr. Guido Flichman aka Eye (not to be confused with that other “Eye” from Japan) crafts out an excellently composed 30 minute track, using a wide variety of sound material. Highly recommended for open minds.
AHD Hara Kiri CDR
Young noise from Puerto Rico. AHD presents five studies for intense noise. First release by this San Juan dweller, with many more to come. Color cover.
ARMENIA + CORNUCOPIA Un Infierno Total CDR
Over 70 minutes of pure noise mixed by Leo Sabatto (ARMENIA) using both projects’ sounds. Originally released on Bizzare Audio Arts. Second edition.
ARMENIA + CORNUCOPIA + GOVERNMENT ALPHA + OPC Sang Noir CDR
Companion album to “Un Infierno Total”, “Sang Noir” is another full frontal harsh noise attack mixed by Leo Sabatto. This time divided into three tracks and featuring sounds from japanese noise veteran GOVERNMENT ALPHA (Yasutoshi Yoshida) and young american wall riders OTHER PEOPLE’S CHILDREN. Originally
released on Bizzare Audio Arts. Second edition.
